Today on the Alon Inquirer podcast, it's time to catch up with Michael Tuh and talk about the last week of Illinois basketball.

0:19.3

An interesting week, as most weeks are, in the Big Ten,

0:22.4

if you're anybody outside of Purdue and Minnesota at the moment. But after a disappointing,

0:27.8

out-tuffed performance against Indiana, Illinois bounces back in a big way with a pretty

0:33.9

dominant victory over Ohio State, especially defensively, as Illinois really shuts

0:39.6

down the Buckeyes, which at times this year have looked good offensively, but boy, they are

0:43.4

reeling right now. A young team with some transfers that has just hit a wall here in mid-January,

0:50.8

but Illinois make sure they don't bounce back, kind of like Indiana did, with their second straight win here at Illinois, and then turning that into a third straight win. And Indiana certainly is one of the better teams Illinois has played over the last couple weeks, but Illinois gets its fifth win in six games and it's starting to creep up towards the top of the Big Ten. Everybody's kind of chasing Purdue, and I don't know if anybody can catch him,

but when I'm starting to get back in that mix with Michigan State, with Rutgers,

1:16.3

towards maybe the top four, top five, six in the league.

1:20.2

And we talked with Michael Toop about what he saw against Ohio State.

1:23.5

What makes this defense so good when it's clicking?

1:27.0

What he makes of Coleman Hawkins and how he can

1:29.4

kind of steady out all of his performances. What he's seen from Ty Rogers, what he thinks of Jade

1:35.2

Nepps in the starting lineup, and what he thinks about Saturday's game up at Wisconsin.

1:40.5

It's time to catch up with Michael Toop, who is appointment listening every time, and he was again this week.
