As I said, today we're going to talk about the power and success, frankly, that comes into your life from having a sense of urgency. One of my mentors, Jim Rohn used to say, without a sense of urgency, desire loses its value. Now, what did he mean by that? You've got goals. You've got ambitions, which are driven by your desire.

And when you act on those desires, you get closer and closer to your goals by not acting, those things you once valued fade away. Now to achieve any measure of success, you have to keep that sense of urgency alive. That's how you avoid a life that ends with regret.

Massive urgent action keeps your goals and dreams and ambitions alive and well and brings them into existence. Now, Webster defines urgent as swift action.

Every day you've got a choice. The choice is to take massive action or not. Every day you don't is a day you never get back.

Leonardo da Vinci said, I've been impressed with the urgency of doing. Knowing isn't enough. We must apply. Being willing isn't enough. We must do. That's what we're talking about here.

Now, these days lots of people have great ideas. Having a sense of urgency and taking massive action is what creates success stories out of those ideas. It's about someone's ability to execute.

The most successful people on the planet have a sense of urgency around execution as well. Myself included. Me personally, you know, I'm the fire ready aim kind of a guy.

Sure, I've had lots of failures which you've heard me call seminars, but because of my sense of urgency, I've also been blessed with some pretty extraordinary successes.

Now, it's important to realize that being urgent doesn't mean that things will happen overnight. You have to put in the effort with urgency and then sometimes wait for the results with some patience.

Now, I know some of you that are analytical might be cringing from this conversation and I get it. Now, I'm not advocating that you ignore due diligence or forego analysis.

But you don't need to know every single step involved to get to the corner store, do you? Of course not. It's the same thing with your goals.

You don't need to have the entire process mapped out and analyzed to make a great decision and take action. Don't get stuck in analysis paralysis.

And if you need to plan, plan with urgency and then take massive action with urgency. So it really comes down to a choice.

If you want something to happen, you can wish something would happen or you can make something happen. Me personally, I love making things happen.

Now, perhaps the best argument for acting with a sense of urgency is this. We're only here on this planet for a very short length of time.

See, if I could go back and I could tell my 20 year old self something, the first thing I'd say is life goes by in a blink. Don't waste a single second.
