Hey everyone, welcome to the Wired to Hunt Foundations podcast which is brought to you by first light.

Today's episode is all about choosing bow accessories, specifically sights and peep sights,

so that you'll be a better shot in the field.

I know, I know, this seems boring, but bear with me. While we often focus on bow choice as the most

important thing for hitting deer in the ribs, that mentality really glosses over how important

some of your accessory choices are. I plan to get into rest and quivers and stabilizers next week,

but for now I want to focus on what we use to aim with, our sights and our peep sights,

and why you might choose certain styles over others, and what that means to you as an individual

and more importantly as a whitetail hunt.

In September of 2008, a good buddy and I were sitting on a hillside in Western North Dakota

as the mid-morning sun started to cause heat mirages in the distance.

The meal deer were all likely to be bedded up in the shade,

and it just felt like time to head back to the camp for a little bit of lunch.

And as we walked single file through the badlands and toward my truck,

I ended up spotting a silhouette of a meal deer where they probably shouldn't have been any deer.
