This is our deep dive episode where we look back on this week's episode of Westworld

and provide our thoughts and analysis.

This week's episode was entitled Akane no-My.

Big D, what'd you think?

The first time through, I wasn't a huge fan.

Second time through, I can see more what they're doing doing I enjoyed some of the Dolores and

Teddy interactions but overall it just felt like an uneven episode that I'm

feeling like in a couple weeks we'll see that this episode was necessary to move the plot along

But it's not going to be one of the highlights of the season. I think part of his we might have been spoiled by episodes two and three and even four to an extent there was

so much going on and there was such strong episodes that maybe this one pale

in comparison but you need those changes of pace you know it's you need different

movements and different tempos and I thought I was surprised about how harsh people were on this episode

on social media and in a lot of the email that we got at hosts at shot on TV.com

People were not impressed. They felt like it was filler. And to me, I feel like a

filler episode is one that goes nowhere that doesn't tell you anything about the world. And I think about

shows like Star Trek or Buffy the Vampire Slayer where they would have multiple filler episodes that went nowhere and they were just explorations of different themes.
