Former press secretary Sean Spicer asked me an interesting question yesterday.

We were talking about the new Pfizer study for the COVID-19 vaccine, the Pfizer vaccine, of course.

Pfizer claims that it's safe and effective against COVID-19 for children between the ages of five

to 11 years old. And I personally think that this is absolutely insane. I know children are

contracting the Delta variant, but children are statistically still more likely to dive the flu

if they contract the flu than to die of COVID-19, even Delta if they contract Delta. So I cannot

for the life of me see any reason why to give this to a child. But I was talking to former

secretary Spicer about this and he was pushing me on it a little bit. He said, well, what information

would you need in order to change your mind in order to give this vaccination to my daughter?

Now just FYI, my daughter is eight months old, so this is hypothetical. She's not in this age range.

And I said, I would need two pieces of information to change my mind to give my daughter this vaccine.

The two pieces of information I would need are as follows. Number one, I would need to know that the

severity of COVID-19 for a child in the age bracket with the nonexistent, pre-existing conditions

that my daughter has, that the severity of COVID-19 is way, way, way worse than it actually is.

That's number one. And number two, I would need the long-term safety data for children in this age

bracket to be very, very, very different than what it is. So right now, the long-term safety data

is simply nonexistent because there is no long-term safety data. And I would need the short-term

safety data, by the way, to also show that there are no side effects, no immediate side effects.

Because the Pfizer study shows that even little kids that have been tested in this trial and

this study are experiencing the same immediate side effects that adults are, even if the dose is

lower. So those are the two pieces of information that I would need to change my mind on whether

children should be vaccinated against COVID-19, the severity of COVID-19 itself, and the safety data.
