| 0:00.0 | Today on the O'I.Nquire podcast, yes, we will have Jay Lehman. He texted me and said, hey, let's talk some Illinois football. And I'm not going to turn him down because Illinois football is feeling good right now, ranked number 17 in the country, atop the Big Ten West standings after Wisconsin took care of Purdue heading into a big matchup. And yes, I do think it's a big matchup at Nebraska. So Jay and I are going to kind of recap the first part of the season, the first seven games of the season with Jay Lehman's midseason report card. |
| 0:40.7 | Yes, we know we are past midseason, but it's an off week last week. |
| 0:44.4 | So this gives us a chance to catch up and kind of recap what we've seen so far this season. |
| 0:49.1 | Look ahead as well, but we'll go position by position with Jay. |
| 0:53.7 | He'll take out his red marker, which is, |
| 0:56.4 | is going to be pretty nice to Illinois because they've been pretty dang good. But I do like the Jay. |
| 1:01.0 | He didn't, he didn't grade on a curve here. So somebody might get upset at a grade or two, |
| 1:06.1 | but it's all relative when it comes to Illinois, because I think Jay graded based on a Big Ten team, |
| 1:12.7 | not as a Illinois curve. |
| 1:14.6 | So I really like that. |
| 1:15.9 | But before we get to Jay, two pieces of news I wanted to react to to to open up this pod. |
| 1:20.5 | And the first one is the Luke Goody injury. |
| 1:23.4 | You've all heard probably right now that the sophomore sharpshooters suffered a bone fracture |
| 1:27.8 | in his left foot during Saturday scrimmage against Kansas. |
| 1:31.8 | And Goody will undergo surgery on Friday, and his return date is to be determined. |
| 1:37.1 | I think it is safe to assume that Lou Goody will miss all of the non-conference play |
| 1:42.2 | and possibly part of, especially the first couple |
| 1:45.5 | games, but certainly a significant part of the season and part of Big Ten play. |
| 1:50.8 | And then he's got to get back into the swing of things, all of that. |
| 1:53.7 | So this certainly will have a big impact on Lou Goody's season being out for most of it, |
| 1:57.9 | but certainly has an impact on Illinois. |
| 2:00.6 | And I know Lou Goody is not in a star role, but he certainly was in a role. |
