Today I want to talk about a little bit about the Tuskegee experiment which you probably

have heard more about in the past two years than any point in the past 50 years.

Because a lot of people are saying that they are hesitant to get the coronavirus vaccine

because of the Tuskegee experiment.

And I want to weigh in on that and say why I think it's a really bad metaphor.

For being legitimately hesitant for other reasons, I think it's wrong to call on the name

of the Tuskegee experiment.

And I want to unpack and explain it, tell you why I think it's important because there

is still huge hesitancy.

To get this vaccine, even though yesterday the deaths, daily death rate creeped above

700 people dying in a single day for the first time in months, we are now over 125,000

new cases a day all over the country I see us are filled.

And I want to talk about some of the myths and challenges and misinformation on why a lot

of people are saying I'm not getting it.

I don't think enough of us actually understand what the Tuskegee experiment was.

It was perhaps the most disgusting medical experiment, the most infamous no doubt medical

experiment done on any Americans over the past 100 years.

Because you may know in this country so many horrible medical experiments have been done,

particularly on African Americans from slavery until even deep into modern times.

And I think a lot of people don't understand how recent the Tuskegee experiment was.

It started in 1932 and went all the way until 1972 and people like what?
