I believe I've mentioned this story before. Many shows ago. I apologize if I'm repeating

myself, but I've been thinking about this a lot, especially recently. There's a book

that I know I've mentioned before, and that's called The Goulog Archipelago by Soljaneaston.

This is his masterwork, his magnum opus. He had a lot of great opuses, opi, maybe as

the plural of that. To say this is as great as really says something. The Goulog Archipelago

is about the Soviet Goulog system, their prison camp, labor camp system. The book, it's

three books actually, three volumes. It covers several decades with a significant focus, especially

in the first volume on Stalin's reign over the Soviet Union. Soljaneaston knew something

about the Goulog system because he spent a good amount of time in it. He went to a prison

camp, I think for seven or eight years. He suffered the same fate as many Soviet soldiers

did after coming home from the front during World War II. After seeing some of the most

brutal and violent fighting in the war in any war, a lot of them came home and were

shipped off to prison camps on one pretense or another. There was a reason was found many

times to send them back because of a suspicion that the Soviet government had, that these people

were, may have encountered Western ideas. We need to go and reset them, reeducate them
