Today on the podcast, let's break down a huge opportunity for Illinois football who enter Camp Randall Stadium 3 and 1 with their first undefeated non-conference play

since 2011. And they enter to play a team in Wisconsin that for a second straight year is off

to a bit of a struggling start as their 2-2-0-1 in the Big 10 lost a surprise home game to Washington State 1714 a couple weeks ago

and then they just got shellacked at Ohio State.

No one surprised Ohio State won, but they dominated that game.

28 points within the first 20 minutes for Ohio State.

They're up 28-0 and it really just coasted to a victory and it was 52 to 21.

And I think the score might have been closer than the actual game was.

So Wisconsin feeling a little wounded, but the badgers always very dangerous, especially

to Illinois.

The badgers haven't lost a home game to Illinois since 2002.

That was before Brett Bielmo was even the head coach.

And of course, we had the big storyline of Brett Bielma, returning to Madison as a head coach for the first time since he surprisingly left the Badgers back in 2012 after three straight big 10 titles.

And of course, he went to Arkansas for many reasons. One of those was his assistants didn't get paid well enough. He thought at Wisconsin. And he thought he could win a national

championship in the SEC. Did not work out for him. Things that worked out pretty well for Wisconsin

as Gary Anderson maintained success for two years before Paul Chris came in, and Paul Chris,

who is Brett Bium, was former offense coordinator at Wisconsin, has done a good job.

But one of the things I found most interesting when I talked with Jim Polesner, the

Wisconsin State Journal for today's podcast, is the feelings about Paul Chris in Madison

and where the program with the Badgers is right now

over what I wouldn't call a couple down years, but mediocre years for Wisconsin football in their relative

recent history, dating back to Barry Alvarez and Brett Bielman.
