0:31.0	whose feast is celebrated on December 16th.
0:34.0	Adelaide was born in 931 in Orb Castle in what is now Switzerland.
0:39.0	The princess's fate was decided by the time she was only two years old. She would
0:44.0	marry La Hare the second, King of Italy, at age 15. The marriage was for
0:48.8	political reasons to secure peace between her new husbands and her father's kingdoms.
0:54.0	But when she was only 18 years old, her husband was poisoned by his successor and died.
0:59.6	His successor, Baron Garth II of Italy, tried to force her to marry his son, but Adelaide refused.
1:07.0	Adelaide was imprisoned for refusing, but escaped after several months and found refuge in a fortress town. From there she wrote a letter
1:14.7	to Otto the first king of Germany begging for help. He came to her aid defeating
1:19.3	Barringer the second and they ended up falling in love. After their marriage, Pope John the 12th crowned Otto the Holy Roman Emperor,
1:26.0	and Attili was crowned Holy Roman Empress.
1:29.0	Attilid was one of the most powerful and influential women of 10th century Europe.
