So it was a Friday morning.

This is Kelly Canovan.

It's like right before lunch, I was teaching religion.

Kelly was Anisha's first grade teacher, the year he died, and we're standing outside

his school.

The bells are from the church next door.

I remember, he was like sitting at my desk and my friend who worked at the school popped

her head in and asked me if Anisha was in school today.

Then I said no why, and she said no reason, and then like left.

Anisha went to a private Catholic school called Our Lady of Perpetual Help.

His family wasn't Catholic, but they wanted Anisha to have the best education possible.

Plus, the school was in maple shade, not far from the Nara's home.

So I went to like our vice principal and I saw on her computer that she was looking

up, something, and it was Anisha's picture with his mom, and I was like what is going

on?

Kelly ran across campus to find the pastor.

He told me to sit down and he told me that Anisha and his mom were murdered.

They didn't really have any answers and that he thought I should go home because I was

a mess, of course.

But Kelly didn't want to go home.

Instead, she finished out the school day and then headed over to a student's house, where

parents had gathered to break the news to their kids.
