I had first heard about the Brian Boling case from Joey Watkins, who was also convicted of a murder in Floyd County and whose case had previously investigated.

Joey had been in prison with both Lee Clark and Kane's story, and what he knew about the case came from his conversations with him.

And one of the things he told me about was how Lee had once confronted Kane and demanded to know what had really happened that night that Brian Bowling died.

Yeah, so Joey told me that you put a monopoly once and he lost it.

Yes, I thought the transcript book hit him in the head with it.

I said, man, I am sick of this shit, you're going to come clean right now and tell me what happened in that damn room.

Lee and Kane have spent many of the years since their conviction at the same prisons together.

They've had a lot of time to talk.

Lee told me that every time he's asked Kane about what happened to Brian, Kane has given

him the same answer, but he said he still has his doubts.

I've been here for 25 years and I don't know what the hell went on in that room.
