Natasha Pavlovich from The Way Down, a documentary miniseries which follows Gwen Shamblin Lara, the founder of a diet program Weigh Down Workshop, and The Remnant Fellowship, a new Christian group led by Shamblin Lara. After rising to fame with her Weigh Down Workshop, a Christian-based diet program that preached slenderness as next to godliness, Gwen Shamblin Lara founded the Tennessee-based church. Despite a carefully curated image, Lara and the church soon fielded accusations of emotional, psychological, and physical abuse, and exploitation for their alleged cult-like practices.
The concluding two episodes of this documentary series examine the mysterious accident that claims the lives of Gwen and some of her inner circle. New voices come forward for the first time.
Natasha Pavlovich was one person Shamblin could not control. She is the mother of a daughter she shared with Joe Lara. She discusses her experience with Gwen and Joe, and the aftermath of their deaths.
