Hello and welcome to my time capsule. I'm Mike Fenton-Stevens, and my time capsule is the podcast where people tell me five things from their life they wish they had in a time capsule.

They pick four things that they really love, and one thing they'd like to bury and forget.

My guest in this episode is the broadcaster and writer Petroch Trelawney,

who, after 14 glorious years at the helm of the breakfast show on BBC

Radio 3, has recently made the exciting move to the station's flagship weekly show in tune,

to co-host it alongside Katie Durham. Petrook started his career with BBC Radio Devon in

1989, aged just 18, as a reporter and presenter.

During the first Gulf War, he was a newsreader for the British Forces Broadcasting Service

and then joined the station as a presenter in Hong Kong for a year.

In 1992, Petrock joined the new radio station Classic FM in London

as the first presenter of the afternoon show.

And two years later, he joined London News Radio, where he hosted a daily three-hour news and talk show.

In 1997, he co-presented Radio's Breakfast Show with Victoria Derbyshire, which he talks about in this podcast, and

finally joined BBC Radio 3 in 1998. He's also hosted the final of the Eurovision Young

Musicians and the Eurovision Choir of the Year, provided the commentary for the BBC broadcast

of the Vienna New Year's concert since 2011, introduce hundreds of broadcasts from

the BBC proms, as well as presenting the Cardiff Singer of the World and the Leeds International

Piano Competition. As a writer, he's regularly contributed to the Spectator, the Irish Times,

the Catholic Herald and BBC Music magazine. His first book, Trelawney's Cornwall,
