and tonight because we are doing this benefit for the Shugsep nunnery, in honor of this benefit and in honor of these nuns.

I wanted to talk about the feminine in Buddhism a bit.

Here's a guy doing that so you'll just have to kind of, you know, cut me a little slack.

And as I do, and do, I'm going to tell some stories and there'll be a little bit of a history.

Often I like to give talks that are more directly related to your meditative and contemplative practice but I think this will tie into it

as we go along once I get there anyway and part of the thing to begin with, part of the teaching that I'd like you to reflect about is the mystery of incarnation.

I mean in India when you meet someone and you put your hands

together and say namaste and as we've said in so many Monday nights the meaning of

this greeting is I honor the divine within you or the spirit behind all of the

costumes of clothes and body and so forth who you really are behind all that.

That may be so, but we take incarnation into these unique forms and no one has ever had an incarnation quite like yours, which is quite phenomenal

considering how many people there are, but still were so unique. And one of the

great mysteries of incarnation is masculine and feminine, is male and female.
