This came as a suggestion from listener Sean Jones, who noted that mental illness isn't

handled super well in the books.

And there's a lot of things going on in our current life, like the Kate Spade and the Anthony Bourdain thing, where

mental illness really needs to be addressed. So the National Alliance on Mental Illness does a lot of

amazing things. They do programs that promote education and advocacy and support. They have a 24-7

crisis helpline. They help out with people who are suffering from domestic violence or sexual

assault, and they work to promote public policy that supports mental health through legislation.
