For decades, Larken Rose has been an outspoken proponent of the principles of self-ownership, non-aggression and a stateless society. An author of several books, including "The Most Dangerous Superstition" and "The Iron Web," and the primary screenwriter of the recently-released "Jones Plantation" film, Mr. Rose has produced hundreds of videos and articles, and given dozens of talks, dissecting and exposing the irrational and destructive nature of the belief in political "authority."

Andrew Treglia has worked as a director, producer, and editor throughout the United States and abroad for over 15 years on an extensive array of projects. He completed over 30 programs for PBS, including his own show, ‘BlockHeads: Return of the Neighborhood’. He also made two feature films, including, ‘Lord of the Freaks’, which premiered at the famous Egyptian Theater in Hollywood, California. He won ‘Best Social Experience’ for his Virtual Reality Experience, ‘Hypatia’, at the highly prestigious Cinequest Film & VR Festival in Silicon Valley. Andrew’s latest feature film, Jones Plantation, was recently released on August 6th, and is currently one of top top-selling independent, low-budget films in America.

For decades, Larkin-Rose has been an outspoken proponent of the principle of self-ownership,

0:05.6

non-aggression, and a stateless society, also known as a voluntary society.

0:10.8

Now, we've talked about voluntarism or anarchy before on this podcast a number of times.

0:16.8

We had a whole episode devoted to it.

0:18.7

I think it was episode 14 with Chris Lenscomb.

0:21.2

Highly recommend checking that one out as a little precursor to this one if you haven't checked that one out yet.

0:26.4

But this conversation with Larkin and Andrew Tregglia was incredible.

0:32.0

So Larkin is the author of several books, one of which I've read twice. I think I'm, yeah, I think I've read it

0:40.1

twice, maybe three times, but it really is that incredible. It's called the most dangerous

0:43.8

superstition. I've read it twice, listened on audio once. That's what it was. It's called the

0:48.4

most dangerous superstition. And the reason I read it so many times is, you know, I'm someone

0:53.3

who's been indoctrinated into a statist ideology being a West Point graduate and having served as an army officer for five years.

1:00.1

We talked about that during this episode too. And it was a lot of cognitive distance for me. But the most dangerous superstition is the best book I know of to break down the condition belief system that is stateism. And if you don't know

1:13.2

what stateism is, you'll find that out during this episode. It essentially means you believe in

1:16.8

government. And that might sound weird. Like, who doesn't believe in some form of government? Well,

1:21.1

I don't. And neither does Larkin, neither does Andrew. And I think if you read the most dangerous

1:26.9

superstition, you listen to this

1:28.2

episode, and then you watch their recently released film called the Jones Plantation, which will also

1:34.2

be linked in the show notes. We play an advertisement of the Jones Plantation on the video version of

1:39.8

this podcast. I think after you check out all three of those things, you may not be a statist

1:46.1

any longer either. And the primary focus of this conversation was on voluntarism and stateism.

1:55.0

But we did talk about the Jones Plantation film quite a bit because it is important, especially because we're coming up on, quote,
