Boynton/Alabama sandstone (Quercus boyntonii) and Georgia oaks (Q. georgiana) are among the rarest oaks in North America and yet we know so little about them. This paucity of knowledge can make conservation difficult, but that doesn't stop people like Patrick Thompson from trying. 0:15.8	Today we are talking about Boynton or Alabama Sandstone Oak and Georgia oak, both of which grow in really harsh conditions, rock out crop kind of habitats, and they're very, very special trees, but they're also extremely mysterious trees that are in desperate need of more scientific investigation.
