Today on the online choir podcast, it's Jeremy Warner and Joey Wagner, as we recap what was a very, very informative, interesting media roundtable with Illinois

Athletics Director Josh Whitman, as it always is. This one might have set a record. I had my

recorder at two hours and two minutes. The opening statement with the way over of what we were

setting beforehand was a 70-minute opening

statement for Josh Whitman, which wasn't even after the pandemic. I thought the pandemic,

after effect, won't be a bit longer. But he always has plenty to talk about, but it's always

interesting to hear from him, Joey Wagner, just your huge, huge overall thought of Josh Whitman

and the sit down, which I guess I should set this up for people. He does this every June.

He doesn't let us record it video or he asks us not to record it video-wise, which is fine

because then he sits down with the TV people afterwards for their purposes. But we can record it.

It's all on the record.

We can transcribe it, all of those things.

It's kind of a more informal setting in a formal kind of way.

But I just think it's good every year that he kind of has this, you know,

state of the Illini, you would say, and really is pretty candid about many topics.

Yeah, he is. And there's really no, as you mentioned, Jeremy, it was two hours. There's really no

time limit. And if you've got something, it's kind of hard to think you're going to walk out of

there without the ability to ask that.

But I think the big takeaway for me was Josh Whitman knows college athletics is kind of at an inflection point and they're coming up to a fork in the road.

And he didn't seem like he's cool standing by and just watching this thing kind of get

figured out, kind of not get figured out.

He knows there needs to be some forward thinking, some progressive thoughts,
