After reports surfaced this past weekend that Pittsburgh wide receiver Jordan Addison may transfer

to USC for a massive NIL deal. There was a ton of back and forth on tampering in college football

and how we can eliminate it. Well, I'm here to go ahead and tell you there's no stopping

tampering in any league, whether it be college or pro or facet of life. If people want to

communicate, nefarious or not, they're going to find a way in today's technological era.

And there are also many middlemen that can be used to help bury any trail. And while there will

be a few instances where people or schools get caught and held accountable, most of the tampering

that goes on will never get found out. But there are ways to help curb the necessity for tampering,

in my opinion, we should have a cap on an NIL in general. But putting in specific rules or caps

on NIL deals after a transfer would calm down this so-called black market for college football.

For example, if player A wants to transfer laterally or up, you can only sign for a certain amount

on an NIL deal. To me, this would stop some of the massive deals that are being made behind the

scenes to try and curb the super team epidemic everybody's worried about, even though to be honest,

we already have two super teams in Alabama and George and maybe another in Ohio State this year.

But we do have to understand high school recruiting is much different than the transfer portal world.

Seeing as there are dead periods and more structure, even though those rules get broken more than

a window by a whistleball field, we have the coming together of two of the biggest adjustments that

have been made to college athletic structure in our lifetime with the addition of NIL and the

portal. And now the ability to leverage NIL through the portal in my opinion is one of the biggest
