Hey my friends, we are just five days away, which makes me nervous from the

opportunity to re-elect Larry Krasner as the district attorney in Philadelphia.

And maybe you're listening to this and you don't live in Philly, you're not

from Philly. Maybe you don't even know anybody in Philadelphia. Let me tell you why

this is the single most important election so far in 2021 when it comes to

criminal justice reform. Let me unpack and explain it. This is Sean King and you

It is Thursday, May 13th, which means we are now just five days away from

election day in Philadelphia. And I want to tell a bit of a story because it is

so intertwined with the work I do. I mean I talk about this at Gray Length even in

my book. Four years ago when we helped to elect Larry Krasner, it came after

really four years of fighting for justice and change all over the country.

Really starting with the murder of Trayvon Martin going all the way through.

The murders of Eric Garner, Michael Brown, Sandra Bland, Freddie Gray,

Philando Castillo, Alden Sterling, Terence Croucher Jr. and more and almost

never getting anything even close to justice or accountability. And after years of

demanding accountability and justice and sometimes even just demanding that police

officers be fired. Not even like if they weren't going to go to jail, so like you

at least need to fire this officer. Even that was difficult. After years and years

of fighting, a civil rights attorney who had been a civil rights attorney in

Philadelphia for almost 30 years named Larry Krasner who was literally the

attorney for Black Lives Matter activist and organizers in Philadelphia.
