Hey, everybody, Tom Woods here.

The episode today is a little bit late, and I've got some good news and bad news here.

Let's start with the bad news.

The bad news is I had a conversation with somebody I better not name because I'm just mortified,

and I don't know how I'm going to handle this because I don't know the person.

I just know the person's work, so I don't have a personal relationship with this person.

And I found out that our conversation on such an

interesting topic, on the police, what did we do before we had the modern police, which is a

much more modern invention than people think. And it was such an interesting historical

conversation. And for some reason, my system here recorded a grand total of 10 seconds of it.

I have not had this happen in 454 episodes.

I am crushed and devastated.

I came in today thinking, I can't wait for people to hear this episode.

So I don't know what I'm going to do, to be honest with you.

I don't know how I'm going to approach this.

But for now, I don't have that episode. I do have a backup

system that I wanted to be using for a time like this, but I've been waiting and waiting for

this store in Topeka to send me the equipment I need. And, you know, I mean, I might as well

be waiting in Antarctica, you know, a store in Topeka, for heaven's sake, unfortunately.
