J.T. Marino. They both started a company a few years ago called Tuft and Needle, a mattress

company. Two young tech guys that looked at the mattress industry, this old line, stodgy industry

in hand, looked at the industry and said, how can we hack this?

The very first site we had we didn't even have the product yet we bought a photostock image of a mattress we described what the mattress would be like we described what the service would

be like we had put it up, you know, I focused more on

building the site. And you could, and like the credit card processing, you literally could put

your credit card number in. You literally would be charged. And he did a little bit of advertising,

and we made a sale within 15 minutes. Of course, like, that

was a point of celebration, but at the same time, we had to apologize to that first person,

give them their money back, tell, let them know that we're back ordered, we shut the site down,

and that's really when we got to work. It's probably important to note, you know, there's a

couple of reasons why we did that. One was JT and I had just left the Silicon Valley VC funded world and wanted to start a bootstrap
