Gimlett, which is built a variety of podcasts and sold to Spotify.

And now he's organizing a sub-stack bundle called Everything that focuses on the business of media.

We talk about this during the interview,

but this is a hyper important time to care about the state of our media.

By some counts, more than 20,000 people who work in journalism,

everything from a local news reporter to a person who works at BuzzFeed or Vice,

these big venture-funded media companies has lost their jobs over the past two years.

So this is really a transformative time,

and this episode is really for anyone who notices everything that's going on

with these big debates.

It wants to actually do something about it,

who wants to participate in this process,

and there's just so much going on here with this.

One thing I have noticed on rising is people are absolutely obsessed with independent media.
