Hi, welcome to Big Fat Positive with Shauna and Laura. This week we have our weekly check-ins.

0:06.7

We have a new segment called Gripewater, where we talk about the things that rub us the wrong way about parenting and babies.

0:13.4

And we have our BFPs and BFNs. Let's get to it.

0:17.0

Hi, everyone. Welcome to the show. This is episode 45. Hi, Shana. Hello, hello. Shall we jump right into our weekly check-ins? What's going on to do this week? So my baby is 17 weeks old.

0:31.2

Gosh, she sounds like she's getting so big. That's like a big number. It's a really big number and it means she's four months old now.

0:41.5

It goes too fast, Shawnee.

0:43.3

It's like so slow and so fast at the same time.

0:45.9

I don't know how to reconcile that.

0:48.4

It's just crazy.

0:49.7

And like the speed with which they develop is amazing.

0:53.9

It's just like just a few short weeks ago. She was

0:56.0

just this like tiny flailing little newborn and now she can do all kinds of things roll over,

1:00.8

like blow raspberries. It's so fun. She's so fun right now. And last week I think I was complaining

1:08.8

about how hard it's been lately with the four months sleep regression and the fourth leap she's been in. She's been really struggling. And I feel like a lot of that has smoothed out this week. Oh, good. Yeah, it's been really nice and fun. And just a joy to be with her. Oh, she just melts my heart. Oh, that's so good to hear because it sounds like you were having a

1:27.6

hard time with that four-month regression. Yeah, and so was she. You know, I felt really bad because she was struggling really hard. And so we're both feeling better now. We're on the up and up. How long do you think that lasted all together, like in retrospect? Two weeks. Okay. I'd say the fussiness started maybe like three weeks ago and then got pretty bad for about two weeks.

1:47.0

Oh, yeah, that's not so bad. Okay. I'd say the fuzziness started maybe like three weeks ago and then got pretty bad for about two weeks.

1:47.0

Yeah, that's not so bad. I mean, you know, it sounds terrible. Yeah. Yeah, there's hope for you and everyone out there that, yeah.

1:53.9

Yeah, because like every time, it's so funny because every time you go through something, I'm just like, okay, it's coming up. It's coming up. I'm just like right behind you.

2:06.3

Yep, exactly. So another thing that'll be coming up for you soon is the four-month checkup at the doctor, which we did. And that went really well. She got her shots, and she did

2:14.1

really well with those. I was surprised. Like she cried, obviously, especially the intramuscular one.

2:19.0

Picked her up and she, the doctor made a funny face at her. And she was like, hey. And I was like, oh, yay.

2:24.4

Oh, good. Because it could be so traumatizing when they're just like so upset. But I feel like she was very tired and extra cranky for a couple days after getting those shots. And I don't know
