Hey guys, welcome to Relatable. Hope everyone's having a wonderful day. Today I am talking

0:15.3

to Helen Andrews. She wrote a book called Boomers and she has a scathing critique of the

0:21.7

baby boomer generation and the problems that they passed down to us millennials and even

0:27.2

generation Z and how we can look at some of their flaws and foibles and failures and learn

0:36.2

from them as the younger generations and hopefully leave a better legacy in her argument for

0:44.1

our kids and our grandkids. So without further ado, here is Helen Andrews.

0:48.4

Helen, thank you so much for joining us for those who don't know. Can you tell everyone

0:58.3

who you are? What you do?

1:01.0

There might be some baby boomers who are offended by this book. Do you think so?

1:34.2

I worry about that. I'm my parents are baby boomers and I didn't want to write anything

1:39.4

that they would take personal offense at. But I'm glad that you thought the book was funny

1:44.0

and I think that if the humor comes from a combination of on the one hand being pretty

1:48.8

angry with the world that the boomers have left us, but on the other hand being fond

1:53.7

of them as well. I don't think you can ever be truly funny about something you just

1:58.8

hate. It's got to be a little bit of element of fondness in there as well and there certainly

2:03.0

is for me with this subject.

2:04.7

That's true. And let's talk about that. Tell us about the world that we have inherited
