So soloing for me is not this statement that I can climb this route perfectly.

It's more of a statement that I know I might not climb it perfectly, but I do know that I have

enough excess strength and stamina to be able to carry myself safely to the top, even if one

or several things go wrong.

and I wanted just to interview a free soloist to know what it's like, why they do what they

do.

And if you don't know what it is, it's basically people who climb, rock climb with no rope,

no safety harness, no equipment whatsoever to wear a fall once you get, you know, not very

far off the ground.

Once you fall, it's certain death.
