This is K.M. Islandland and you are listening to the

439th episode of the Helping Writers Become Authors Podcast.

So lots of big news this week. I got my proof for my about to be

published Gaslamp Fantasy

Wayfair. It looks gorgeous and I'm chugging along on its final proof reading.

Things are going really well and now I'm hoping to get it published as early as

the beginning of September.

And in other news, I also typed up the final words in the first draft of my portal fantasy sequel

Dreambreaker.

So yay, cue the confetti. The first draft took me just about 13 months to write.

In places, it was the easiest and most fun book I've ever had to deal with.

And in others, it was one of the hardest to write.

I'm going to put it on the back burner for just a little while

then dive into its first round of edits before sending it on to my first round of

beta readers. I'm already getting super excited

about starting the outline of its sequel, which will be the third and final book

in the trilogy. And that is my big news for the week.
