This is K.M. Wyland and you are listening to the 434 episode of the Helping Writers Become Authors Podcast.

Just a little over a year after beginning the first draft of my

portal fantasy work in progress, Dreambreaker.

I now find myself entering its final portion. This

week I started in on its climax extremely excited about writing this book's

climax since there's all kinds of fun and thrilling scenes that have to happen.

Still, it's always bittersweet to be this close to the end of the journey.

The good news this time around is that I won't be saying goodbye to the characters since I'll get to turn around and immediately start outlining the third and final book in the trilogy.

Or at least I think it's the final book, when I finished the first book, Dreamlander, all those years ago, I had absolutely

no notion that one day I'd be writing its sequel. But I'm totally stoked, it worked out that way

since I had one of the best times I've ever had writing this book.

It will be great to finish its first draft within the next month or so.

So then I can put all my focus into getting my superhero historical wayfarer published.

Six steps.

As an infamously vivid dreamer, I often find myself waking up with this surging certainty that my subconscious just gave me the best story ever.

One of my most memorable dreams featured an end of the world plot.

Aliens were coming, asteroids were coming, claxons were blaring, people were running around madly.

I think the theme from Armageddon might even have been playing.

Anyway, time was running out and there was only one way to save the world. So our brave

heroin did what no one else had the brains or the guts to do in this last minute
