Summary

New York Times bestselling author, Jen Hatmaker, is opening up about overcoming a year of grief, how she learned to get through it instead of over it, and she shares her advice for making it through the holidays after going through a divorce or losing someone you love. Her marriage suddenly ended at the start of the pandemic after 26 years, and she says it sent her into a deep depression where she experienced an array of health issues for the first time. After some time and the unwavering support from friends and family, Jen started to work on her 15th book, which is a cookbook she partially credits with saving her life (coming out in the fall), and she committed to doing the personal work required to get through the trauma instead of trying to find a way around it. She also talks about the one holiday tradition she refuses to let go and the deal she made with her sons to keep them participating every year.
