a song that will last a lifetime. Hey everyone. Today's guest is my old friend Dan Andriano, bassist and singer for the Chicago Illinois band Alkaline Trio.

Dan and I go way back to the early 90s in his days as bassist for Ska Punkers slapstick.

Today we break down the 2003 Alkaline Trio fan favorite. Every Thug Needs a Lady. Taken from their 2003 album, Good Morning. Dan mentioned when he sets out to write a song,

it's kind of an all at once thing.

All he may come back to it and work on it at a later time,

when he initially starts writing a new song,

he doesn't have lyrics tucked away somewhere

in a journal for reference.

The song is always something that is in the moment for him.
