On the evening of September 12, 1952, a group of local boys and one of their mothers in Flatwoods, West Virginia, walked out into the dark of some farmland after seeing what looked like a meteor crash through the sky. As they got closer to the site, they suddenly fell ill from a thick haze and an indescribable metallic scent that choked their throats. While exploring through the brush, they encountered a creature in the dark that has terrified this town for decades. A towering being nearing ten feet high that seemed like the work of science fiction.
