On the evening of September 12, 1952, a group of local boys and one of their mothers in Flatwoods, West Virginia, walked out into the dark of some farmland after seeing what looked like a meteor crash through the sky. As they got closer to the site, they suddenly fell ill from a thick haze and an indescribable metallic scent that choked their throats. While exploring through the brush, they encountered a creature in the dark that has terrified this town for decades. A towering being nearing ten feet high that seemed like the work of science fiction. The story of the Flatwoods monster is one that has been the subject of debate for years, and we’re set to dive into the legend and divulge some of the most compelling theories as to what it could’ve been.
