This week we're going to be taking a look at one of the biggest reasons why people misinterpret

the Bible.

And obviously people misinterpret the Bible for a lot of different reasons, but this is

a pretty big one. It's one that I've experienced myself and that is having a lack of value

for Israel.

And specifically for Jewish culture, Jewish beliefs in the first century and before, there's

really a lot of ignorance in the modern church about what Jews actually thought and believed.

And yet we're trying to interpret their writings from 2000 plus years ago.

And this is something that actually I think the Bible itself warns us about numerous times.

A big place where it warns us is in Romans 11.

I just want to take a second and read this passage because I think the warning that is

given this passage has come true.

It has come true.

Alright, so this is Paul and he's warning Gentile Christians.

Okay, that's Gentile means non-Jewish.

Right, he's warning Gentile believers not to become arrogant towards Jewish believers.

And he's using the metaphor of a tree, right?

And just so I can set the subs, you can understand the passage.

And the metaphor, Christ is the root of the tree.
