Today's Tuesday.

It's Christmas.

I hope you're spending your day with family and friends and having an amazing time.

Or, like me, just lounging and enjoying time off, eating, drinking, wine for breakfast, and reflecting.

This is my first Christmas without Ayanna in the 13 years of her life.

And guess what?

kelly so listen to this I was with a friend last night and she has a friend that was completely distraught

because she's going through a divorce and the husband didn't want to bring the baby back until

the Christmas day so yesterday was Christmas Eve and she's like oh she's not through a divorce and the husband didn't want to bring the baby back until the Christmas day. So yesterday was Christmas Eve and she's like, oh, she's not bringing him back like I want him on Christmas Eve, you know, you know what I'm talking about. She was upset and my friend is telling me that she wants full custody. She's trying to go to court that the father has the baby around this new woman and is confusing him, et cetera, et cetera. I also had a friend that was going through this a couple of weeks ago saying, oh, now her baby father wants the kids for Christmas and doesn't want to bring them back to afternoon years, all that good stuff that we know. Because, you know, this sounds familiar to you, right? Well, this is something I hear all the time, and I'm not even going to sit here and say that I didn't go through this myself. It happened to me a couple of years ago, but it took me no time to realize that I wasn't doing any of it for my child. I was just being selfish and petty myself, and I wanted to hurt the other adult in the situation because I had been wronged by him. You're not paying child support.

You can't see the baby.

You have a new girlfriend I know nothing about.

You can't see the baby.

And the cycle of pettiness goes on.

Ladies and even the fellas, but I'm specifically talking to you ladies because I know exactly how you feel and I've been there.

If the father wants to be with the kids for Christmas, let the kid or kids go.

Trust me, this child does not care. They don't give three rats ass about opening gifts on

Christmas Day or the day after Christmas or maybe even after New Year's. They just want the

presents. That's what?

That's it.

Just the presents. The sentimental attachment that we have to open in the gifts right at midnight or at 7 a.m. or whatever you do is really bullshit. We do it for ourselves and not the kids. It's like, oh, it's tradition. No, the tradition is for the kids to open up their presents whenever it is with a good spirit, happy with food around, you know, just having a good time.
