I'll continue with our TLF tribute to Sabu, and it's gone from fuck Sabu to Welcome

But Sabu chooses Japan over ECW, like, you know, 20 other guys in ECW did, and he's the one that gets Polly to get the whole arena to turn on him.

And this coincides with the arrival of Rob Van Dam. And as we

talk about in our next installment here, the series of matches in 1996 with RVD that put

RVD on the map. And a lot of ways when you think about it, Sabu's contributions are most clearly

embodied and evidenced by Rob Vanandem success in the industry.

He set RVD up for success from Sheik's backyard all the way through, as we're about to hear,

setting RVD up for success in ECW at a time when perhaps Paul Heyman didn't quite see,

according to Sabu, at least, all of the upside that RVD would have. And in a matter of like three years, RVD would be his number one meal ticket

and the guy that he was prepared to put the world title on

right around the time that the bottom fell out.

And certainly, I think we can say this,

the ECW wrestler with the most success in WWRVD.
