and personalities.

Those are interesting words to apply to an insect, but as you're going to hear today,

they couldn't be more accurate.

Joining us to talk about this is Dr. Stephen Buckman.

He is a pollination ecologist, and he has recently written a book called What a Bee Knows.

And it is a phenomenal and enjoyable read that summarizes so much complex science in such

an approachable way about the thoughts, memories, and personalities of bees. Dr. Buckman puts a lot of effort into making this stuff understandable and it is going to blow your mind in some form or another. If you think you know bees, think again. Pick up this book. Buckman. I to the podcast and is an honor to have you here.

I'm really excited to talk to you today. But for those that aren't familiar with your work,

let's start off with an introduction. Tell us a little bit about who you are and what it is you do.

Sure. Well, I'm a bee guy. I guess actually a bee and plant guy. So that makes me what I call a

pollination ecologist. Nice. And I'm at the University of Arizona here in Tucson in the

Sonoran Desert. And I like to go out in the deserts., well, actually tropics too. So I guess that makes

me sort of a bipolar ecologist. So I like the hot dry places and the stinky hot, wet places.
