We're talking today to Peter Klein of the University of Missouri because there was an article some time ago in salon and Peter was out of town.

He travels around the world quite a bit, so we're a little late getting to it, but better late than never.

This is an article in Salon by Andrew Sayer, and the

article was called, The 1% Are Parasites, debunking the lies about free enterprise, trickle-down,

capitalism, and celebrity entrepreneurs. And it turns out that this article is in fact

simply an excerpt from the author's book, Why We Can't Afford the Rich, and it has every fallacy you have ever heard contained in one article.

So I thought it would be nice and educational to have Peter Klein come on and talk to us about what's wrong with these kinds of claims.

Salon is actually highly educational because it gives me so much fodder for episodes that I can use for purposes of education.

Peter Klein is Carl Menger Research Fellow of the Mezes Institute.

He's associate professor in the Division of Applied Social Sciences at the University of Missouri.
