Summary

Season 4 Premier episode. Bob tells the story of 5 armed robberies that occurred over a two week period in Killeen and Copperas Cove Texas in 2008. All 5 robberies seem to have been committed by the same person. Police had detailed descriptions of the suspect from the victims as well as surveillance footage. 1:01.6	The case that we're going to be discussing in this season of Truth and Justice was once again
1:06.9	brought to us by the Innocence Project of Texas. About three weeks ago when we were preparing for
1:12.2	the conclusion of season 3, and Mike and Shane and I were beginning to prepare to launch into our new
1:17.8	case, the executive director of the Innocence Project of Texas, Mike Ware, as if we could get on
1:23.2	the phone with him to talk about a man who he is certain has been wrongfully convicted.
1:28.7	From there we got into conference call with both Michael Ware and Alison Clayton,
1:32.8	and Michael told me the story about how a man named George Powell III was sent to prison for
1:38.4	28 years for something that he clearly and obviously did not do.
1:44.7	And Mr. Ware believes that if we could get the Truth and Justice Army to engage in George Powell's
1:49.9	case, that we may actually be able to set him free.
2:05.5	Georgia's story is amazing and interesting, but before I can tell you about George Powell,
2:11.4	we first, as always, have to go back to the beginning. Our story begins on May 22nd, 2008,
2:19.2	with a man armed with a pistol walked into a coporous cove Texas Texaco station and demanded
2:25.2	that the clerk give him all of the money in the cash register. This robbery was the beginning of
2:31.1	a five robbery crime spree, a spree that ended with George Powell being sentenced to 28 years in prison.
2:41.8	This story is different from most that have been told on this podcast.
