Summary
On this week’s episode of the Peter Crouch Podcast, it’s a full-blown Liverpool legends special as Crouchy parks up in the iconic Liverpool Sky Bar for a series of unforgettable chats with some of the biggest names in football.
First up, Thiago Alcântara — former Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Liverpool midfielder — breaks down the art of controlling a game, reveals why modern football might be over-coached, and names the greatest players he’s shared a pitch with, including Andrés Iniesta and Bobby Firmino. His insight into tempo, creativity, and football intelligence is as sharp as you’d expect from one of the most technically gifted midfielders of his generation.
Next, Liverpool cult hero Pepe Reina joins the lads to reflect on his incredible Anfield career, from Golden Glove dominance to dressing room culture. Now a coach, Reina shares what it really takes to build team spirit, adapt to new environments, and why Liverpool’s atmosphere is unlike anything else in football.
We also hear from Matt Parish, Director of the LFC Foundation, who lifts the lid on the staggering impact the club is having off the pitch — supporting tens of thousands of people, tackling inequality, and raising over £1 million through the legends match alone.
Finally, Liverpool’s all-time top scorer and Welsh icon Ian Rush sits down to talk legacy, goal scoring records, and why the Premier League era has changed how greatness is remembered. From Salah comparisons to global fandom, Rush gives a fascinating perspective on what it means to represent Liverpool.
Back in the studio, the lads react to the chats, all hell breaks loose in the Paddy Power predictions with the introduction of “Chaos Cards,” and they somehow manage to circle it all back to omelettes, shin pads, and classic Crouchy nonsense…

| 0:00.0 | Hello and welcome to that Peter Crouch podcast, me, Peter Crouch, Chris Stark and Cid's with me. |
| 0:05.6 | Is everyone okay? Very good. You two are looking really fresh. I feel refreshed. |
| 0:10.2 | I mean, you've got a nice holiday. Straight out of holiday. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, I had lovely time. |
| 0:14.2 | Very quickly, just want to shout out the omelette station in a hotel breakfast. |
| 0:19.3 | Yeah. I've been a big fan of these for a long time. Yeah, Abby's favorite meal of day is breakfast, a hotel breakfast specifically. Even when I want to lie in, I'm forced to get up. But they keep it open late enough. I tend to find when you're on holiday, I don't know if we put enough respect on the omelette station. They should be knighted. They make it look so easy. And it's three or four on the go. Yeah, how are they doing that with the three pans? That one's bad enough, isn't it? While making omelets for the kids in the morning, it's one pan. Yeah. And also it sort of sticks to the pan or whatever. But even on the holiday when it sticks to the pan, they still somehow fold that thing over and it comes out on the plate. It's just a work of art, isn't it? I think it's hard for me to flip one, you know, like to get it nicely. Yeah. Because it kind of looks, like a half-eaten kebab. Yeah. But on holiday, they always make good with it. And I don't know where they're learning this skill. I don't know at what point in your career. Because it's not really, they're like omelet ninjas, aren't they? They're just, they're so talented with it. No, they really are. I just wanted to give a shout out just to start this podcast. Yeah. I love, I just love a holiday breakfast. |
| 1:45.7 | You know that moment as well, when you go through, you get your seats either given to you or you choose where to sit with a family. You have to part your ass on there for one second just to almost sit there, take control of the table, and then you get up and go. Yeah, yeah, that annoys me that one, yeah. I think, I'm sure I heard Peter K talk about that. |
| 1:46.1 | Yeah. |
| 1:46.3 | Yeah. Or you've got to put your sunglasses on the table, haven't you? Or just under the napkin, unruffle the napkin and just, you know. You see, that's that. Just do that. Go on, let's go. It's so true. That's a syrigal, isn't it? |
| 2:02.2 | It's like the wine tasting, you know? |
| 2:05.0 | No one gives us fuck, just pour it. |
| 2:08.6 | Unless you're a connoisseur of wine, you know, then just pour it. |
| 2:13.1 | Yeah. |
| 2:14.9 | Have you hit a point in your life where if they get you to test the wine do you do you |
| 2:19.9 | just i mean like we should start maybe our thing go real john smiths on it no nonsense just if |
| 2:26.4 | they pull you out one just fucking grab that down it like don't do the whole like sniffing it |
| 2:32.1 | like swirling it swirling it |
| 2:34.2 | I feel like that could be the thing |
| 2:36.2 | that could be our new thing |
| 2:37.4 | you sit down when he made support |
| 2:39.1 | just bang it |
| 2:40.1 | and then |
