| 0:00.0 | Hello everyone and welcome to the Slash Film Cast, the official podcast of Slashfilm.com. |
| 0:25.8 | I'm David Chen and with me are |
| 0:27.8 | Dupin DraHarwa and Jeff Cannata. |
| 0:29.8 | And welcome to the show ladies and gentlemen. |
| 0:31.8 | Today we got a lot of stuff we want to talk about but first we are going to start with some what we've been watching. |
| 0:38.8 | Move on into a discussion of the main review this week and that is arrival. |
| 0:44.8 | A new film by Denny Villeneuve. |
| 0:46.8 | That's all we got on tap for you today but there is one thing that I should mention we will be talking about. |
| 0:51.8 | And that is the results of the election. |
| 0:54.8 | The 2016 United States election. |
| 0:57.8 | It has taken a lot of us by surprise and there is a lot to discuss. |
| 1:02.8 | And in the past we've gotten some pretty mixed feedback about our politics talk. |
| 1:09.8 | Some people have said yeah keep doing it and some people have said this is terrible I hate it. |
| 1:14.8 | But I just wanted to give everyone a warning up pop that firstly you should always expect us to discuss political issues on the show and how movies relate to politics and movies relate to life and vice versa. |
| 1:28.8 | And we will keep doing that no matter what happens that's just the way where why go ahead Jeff. |
| 1:35.8 | I just want to piggyback on that real quick not to get off on a tangent but one of the things that bothers me a lot. |
| 1:43.8 | As a person that puts out a lot of different shows about a lot of different topics is the idea that a lot of people present that you one can stick to talking about video games or movies and somehow not have politics or the larger world's issues be represented or be talked about as well. |
| 2:11.8 | I just I don't think that's politics is permeates everything and is relevant to everything and this idea of you know just stick to the fun stuff and don't get messy and put those you know thoughts out that you think it's like well it's all part of it and there's no such thing as an objective review of anything. |
| 2:33.8 | Yeah and now more than ever it is going to be impacting our lives I feel but yeah so for those who don't want to hear explicit politics talk just skip to the review even though we will likely be talking about politics during the review as well but we probably will be talking about the election during the review so just skip to that use the timestamps to get to that if you don't want to hear it we're trying to give you the option of what you want to listen to that being said we will be talking about the election so before we get to that actually Divendra why don't you tell us what you've been watching. |
| 3:02.8 | Yeah guys this week I watched a hopeful band of you know people who want to make the world better try to take on an evil and evil force you know and at the last minute the bad guys won but enough about the empires strikes back let's talk about the US election guy let's do it nice boom goes the country. |
| 3:30.8 | So that's what I thought in my head boom goes to the country actually. All right well. So I think. |
| 3:37.6 | There's obviously a lot of emotions to feel I think I want to ask you guys what kind of your top line concerns are after this week like well what what is at the top of your mind because I like. |
