Summary

Today's episode is a little different, but it's what I felt the Lord nudging me to say as I've received a number of panicked DMs asking for encouragement and reassurance in the midst of the uncertain and even tragic circumstances that so many around the world are enduring.

Remember, friends, that we were never called to either a) bury our heads in the sand and pretend that suffering doesn't exist OR b) immerse ourselves only in doom and gloom and forget that we have hope in the Lord and an obligation to keep loving God and loving our neighbor.

Also, prayer is powerful.

I hope this episode brings you fresh perspective and vision!

And on today's show, I want to talk to you about this idea of letting the circumstances of our lives and more importantly, the events of the world steal our peace and I'm

0:26.0

guessing you already know why I'm talking about this we have a seemingly

0:29.7

unprecedented amount of turmoil and upheaval in this world. Fewer than two weeks ago, Hamas terrorists

0:37.4

paraglided or rammed vehicles through into Israel and attacked unsuspecting civilians.

0:44.3

In fact, they found plans on their bodies that revealed that they were told to

0:50.1

target the most innocent and the most unprotected.

0:53.6

That they were to go to schools

0:55.2

and inflict the most amount of blood letting as possible.

0:58.6

And when you think through the sheer evil

1:02.0

that that represents, regardless of where someone stands

1:05.2

on a political issue, we should all be able to acknowledge that sneak attacking civilians is never

1:10.9

okay. I think we can all stand with that. And yet not only do we have this

1:16.8

bloodshed and this horror feeling our minds, we also have these loud voices saying things

1:22.1

like they deserved it or trying to argue

1:24.2

moral equivalence and while this podcast is not going to specifically be about

1:29.3

the conflict in the Middle East I do think that some of our anxiety that we experience, some of the terror

1:38.9

that we feel in our own hearts at the thought of raising children in this world comes from the idea

1:44.7

that it is hard to find people who will agree on what is absolutely right and

1:49.6

absolutely wrong anymore. It is very comforting when we are able to gather with people who say, you know, God's laws are righteous, we should pursue this, this is right and good, and to know where our focus is and where our moral compasses.

2:03.9

But when we have a world that is divided,
