Fuck Bloomberg, really seriously folks.

Yes I know, this is Rumble.

It's my podcast, I'm Michael Moore.

In April of 1999, I received a phone call one day.

I picked it up and on the other end of the line was a man by the name of Mike Bloomberg.

He was calling me to ask me out on a date.

Or not a date date like the way we normally use the word but he was inviting me to be his

dinner guest at the annual White House correspondence dinner.

The press invite for lack of a better word, celebrities to be their dinner dates.

Here was Bloomberg on the other end of the line with me.

This is 1999.

This is all before bowling for Columbine and fearing that 11.

My book, Stupid White Man and all the things that brought me a wide mainstream.

Success, I guess is the word.

But I had made a couple of documentaries and I had my TV show on NBC, TV Nation.

I was just starting the awful truth on Bravo.

So I had this cult following, I guess you could call it, but not anything on the level

of Mary Tyler Moore or Robert Ruffer or something like that.

Here was Bloomberg inviting me to be his guest to walk the red carpet with him into the

Washington Hilton and sit there at the table with him that night.

And I was like, okay, sure, thanks, I guess.

I couldn't really process it properly at the moment, but sure enough, May 1st rolled
