Because, you know, the world is quite hard at the moment, isn't it? It's hard. But there are

always lovely things like trees and Brit Pop and Canadian comedians.

Like my guest today, Segway, the brilliantly bold and brutally funny Kate Barron.

She is a Canadian comedian who's living in the UK and has taken the UK comedy

scene frankly by Storm. And we have a delightful chat about, among other things, her former life as

an art dealer. Love that. We all contain multitudes. We talk the politics, the pretensions and everything

in between in the art world. She talks about making the leap into stand-up in the UK and her

spiritual devotion to Gail's bakery. I get it. Also her formative years as a self-confessed mall rat and her current

hyperfixation with the deeply weird, deeply adorable, but sort of also quite appalling world of

Laboooo-boo figures. I hope I'm saying that right. If I'm not, I don't care. Should we crack on?
