0:29.7	through His Word and that you're going to be equipped and empowered to fulfill your God-given purpose.
0:34.5	Today we're going to dive into a very familiar and action-packed chapter of the
0:38.6	book of Daniel. I mean, this chapter is the stuff superhero movies are made of. It includes a
0:45.2	ginormous gold statue, a narcissistic king, a very hot furnace, super courageous young people,
0:52.4	the appearance of a supernatural being and a plot twist at the end.
0:57.0	It's an action-packed from beginning to end, and it has kept people intrigued for generations.
1:04.4	But if we're not careful, we can put this chapter in the category of the latest Marvel movie release
1:10.7	and read it as a fictional story
1:13.3	instead of a true historical account. Now the events that I'm about to read actually happened.
1:21.1	The unbelievable courage of three teenage boys who kept their faith when it was literally
1:27.4	under fire,
1:28.8	ended up changing the course of history. These teenage boys were pressured to compromise
1:35.0	their faithfulness to the one true God and conformed to the cultural values, the expectations
1:41.3	and the norms of their time, just like you and I are today.
1:45.8	Now, I don't know of any time in my lifetime where this chapter of the Bible has had more
1:52.5	relevance for me personally than right now. Things have changed so quickly in our world.
