In the summer of 1947, people across the United States and around the world were captivated by the news of possible

alien activity in the desert of New Mexico. According to reports, an unidentified flying

disc had crashed near a ranch, strewing debris across the ground. Rumors quickly spread that

life forms from outer space had landed on Earth and were being kept hidden by the U.S. military at a top-secret facility. Both the exact nature of the crash site, as well as the

debris reportedly found, were kept highly confidential. The public's imagination ran wild.

Headline edition July 8, 1947. The Army Air Forces has announced that a flying disc

has been found and is now in the possession of the Army and sent to Right Field, Ohio,

for further inspections. Our correspondence in Los Angeles and Chicago have been in contact

with Army officials endeavoring to obtain all possible late information.

For many years afterwards, euphologists and conspiracy theorists continue to insist that the incident
