Today's case is about a man who went from being on a billboard,

hailed as father and husband of the year in 1998,

to facing charges of murder and attempted murder, just a few short years later.

There are many interesting legal issues that come up in this case.

and the problems that can present.

It was Monday, June 12, 2006, and 45-year-old Darren Mack was enraged.

He had been embroiled in a very long and contentious divorce and custody battle

with his estranged wife, Charlemack.

And just a year earlier, the judge in the case, Judge Chuck Weller,

had ruled that Darren would have to pay almost a million dollars

plus ten thousand dollars a month to Charlem over the next five years.
