Patrick Kleppic and I discuss a recent blog post that George R.R. Martin made in which he criticizes some of the decisions

that were made in adapting his book Fire and Blood to the Show House of the Dragon.

So Patrick Kleppic and I spend like 30 minutes speculating reflecting on our reaction to this blog post and

what we think it means and what we think George R. Martin's state of nine might be and

I actually think it's a good enjoyable segment I'm proud of it we're

gonna release it you're gonna hear it you should enjoy it but shortly after we

recorded this segment George R Martin removed the blog post from his website.

And then an HBO spokesperson actually responded to the blog post saying to Variety, quote,

there are few greater fans of George R. Martin and his book, Fire and

and the Creative team on House of the Dragon, both in production and in HBO.

Commonly, when adapting a book for the screen, with its own format and limitations, the

showrunner ultimately is required to make difficult choices

about the characters and stories the audience will follow.

We believe that Ryan Condell and his team have done an extraordinary job

and the millions of fans a series has amassed over the first two seasons will

continue to enjoy it."

So that is what has happened since we recorded this and who knows by the time you're

listening to this maybe more developments will have taken place but I wanted to record this little addendum at the beginning to give you the latest and greatest.
