Mallory Omera and I'm Brea Grant filmmaker and e-reader. This episode

hey it's the end of the year. Happy end of year Mallory we've made it and

we're going through this year's Reading Glass's Challenge and

announcing next year's challenge. Oh my God. Very exciting. We think about

this a lot. We think about y'all and we're excited to tell you what we've come

up with. But first, Briar, what are you reading?

I, okay, I was trying to decide what I should tell you I'm reading.

I'm going to go with one of the 2023 books that didn't quite make it onto the list but was really good

which is which is remarkably bright creatures it's on a lot of lists. Oh the

octopus book I love this yes is by Shelby Van Pelt it's a if you're a person who likes multiple

story lines I'm it also takes place in the Pacific Northwest in an aquarium

and around this little town in an aquarium and it's also from the point of view and one of the characters is the

octopus which is the aquarium kind of knows about the people in the town and the

things that are happening and there's this woman who cleans the aquarium at night and it's kind about her and this kind of

guys like never got a shit together comes to this small town anyway it is it was so fantastic loved it. It was a really good read, a really great literary fiction,

and if you like something that is from the P.O.V. of an octopus, hey, this is the book for you.
