Yeah, the video in Niger, it's, you know, turned into definitely the most controversial thing we've probably ever

published for understandable reasons you know the the video for people who haven't

seen it or don't wish to see it which is perfectly understandable.

It's not something I really want to watch either and we'll talk about that too.

The video details the ambush that happened in Niger back in October when a U.S. Special Forces team and their local counterparts were ambushed by a ISIS affiliate.

And the video is actually helmet cam footage from one of the American soldiers.

And it's graphic. It's not easy to watch.

And the gentleman who had the actual helmet cameras killed in the video.

So I mean people are, you know, definitely checking this thing out, trying to make sense of it and trying to understand it so I wrote a letter a letter you know letter from the editor on soft rep to

Essentially explain why we decide to publish it because people again

understandably upset about it they're angry about that we published it and I

wrote that letter to not apologize but to explain why we made that decision.

And you know what I was thinking before we get to the reaction and your explanation for

like how did this all come about because as I know you were saying the video was originally

posted as basically a propaganda video. Right so the the soldier who had the helmet camera on was killed.

The terrorists, the jihadis out there in Niger

captured the footage.

They took it and spiced it together. They put their little like

jihadi music overlay on it and used it as propaganda. In the video, so the video is already

out there on the internet.
