Mr Garrett Ida from the company Dark Energy we're at the Western hunting

conservation expo Garrett I think this is actually where we met many years ago. I think so I

think so. So it's kind of like our annual. We always see each other. We've talked

about podcasting before and and finally put it together here but man I think I've been using your products since we met and they've worked famously by the way

I think you know that I love to hear that that's that's what they're here for right we build things that are

supposed to be tough lightweight waterproof whatever you're gonna go through it

needs to go like step by step be able to go through the the rough and tumble of backcountry hunting

camping biking backpacking you name it right absolutely so before we get too deep in the weeds why don't get like maybe a little bit about yourself and then also like you know dark energy the company you know what was what was the what was the impetus for the idea that that sparked like hey man I think

we I think there's a fit for these type of products I think we can build these type

of products and a little bit about what the products are and what they're for

absolutely yeah so my name is Garrett Ida, CEO and founder of a company called Dark Energy, and we make

rugged power products for outdoor and military use.

So the idea for dark energy came actually when I was bow hunting. I was in the tussers and every day I'd get up and you know I'd hike up and you know I'd hike up maybe about an hour to get into position and every day I'd have sun I'd have rain. I'd have a little bit of sometimes a little bit of snow.

And my gear was getting wet.

I was kind of sliding all over the place.

I'm like beating my gear up.

And like, well, one, my phone was dying.

I had radios. I also had a GPS I don't really need it too much because I kind of knew the area pretty well but I had all this tech on me that was getting super soaked that I was always worried about.

It was cold and I was beating the tar out of this, out of my electronics.

And that's where the idea was, I was like, man, okay, I need to stay charged, but I need something that's going to be waterproof
